Ladies, wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters, we’ve all been there, where nothing seems to go our way. Or something we’ve been working towards, and praying for suddenly seems to fall apart. During times of trials, it’s hard to remember that you’ve experienced any good in your life. Or even to appreciate the blessing that remain. And I’m not going to stand here (or sit to be exact) and telling you there’s a magical way to avoid problems. Please, if I knew that I’d be a millionaire for sure. But what I am telling you is that you can face difficult times with dignity and peace. Though every trial presents different challenges we can be prepared. But ladies we need to equip yourselves with biblical tools. Trials are trying and we can’t do a thing without him.
I’ve had my fair share of heartbreak, disappointment, and discouragement, but from them I’ve learned a few things. Trying to get through struggles on your own is lonely and fruitless. We need help sisters. We need people in our corner who can provide godly advice when our head is in a fog. We need people to pray for us when everyone but us can see that we need help. We need reminds that we’re not alone. And above all else we need Jesus.
The only way to get pass, through, and over our problems is to face them with the Lord by your side. I know seeing through the thick dark fog can be tricky. I mean, have you ever called on the Lord but not trusted in him completely? Me too. But we need to wait on His timing. He will rarely lead us in the ways we expect. Yet, having faith is more than just saying we do, it’s showing it by allowing the Lord to do a work in our life.
Looking back, I can clearly see the difference from times when I trusted in God and times I tried to fix things myself. And there’s just no comparison. I am limited, but the Lord is all powerful. So the next time you think you can do more then God check your wins to his. As Christians, we need to be robust and unwavering in our faith. God didn’t promise us fewer problems once we became believers. I fact, we have a target on our backs now. The moment we said we belong to the Lord, the devil took notice. Because now we are a threat. And he’ll do whatever he can the break up our relationship with the Lord.
My family and I know this first hand. Recently, we have gone through a string of events that have stretched us all pretty thin. And like most trials, we weren’t given any notice that the rug was going to be pulled out from under us. But when my world seemed to be unrecognizable I knew my God was steadfast. He has made the impossible, possible. And though the weight of my sorrows was enough to crush me, they didn’t because I wasn’t bearing them alone. Remember that our God is bigger than any of our problems. What an awesome truth that is.
So though our problems may be here for a season (or two) know that our God is faithful. He is not taken by surprise at our circumstances. He is not fearful and never gets overwhelmed. And best of all, he is on our side. So, I don’t know about you, but I will praise the Lord during the peaks and valleys of life.
In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. 1 Peter 5:10
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. Romans 12:12
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. James 1:2
The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm. Exodus 14:14
