Have you ever found it difficult when shopping for a gift for your parents, spouse, or siblings? When it comes to kids gifts stores hold our hands and lead the way, but what about everyone else? The only choices marketed to us seem to be bright shiny diamonds, and cars with ridiculously large red bows on top. Personally, I wouldn’t turn either of those gifts down myself, but it’s unfair to have that be the standard which all other gifts will be measured. The problem so many of us run into is that we believe the value of our gifts correlates with its size. But instead of wrapping the largest present and shoving it under the tree, which if we thought smaller. Unique gifts are always more fun to give (and get) and there also the most memorable. So let’s make stocking stuffers the preferred gifts this year.
Now there are of course no rules when it comes to stocking stuffer gifts, aside from that they must fit inside the stocking. But I find it helpful choosing a theme (or two) that my gifts can reveal around.
Coffee Drinkers: Mugs for travel or at home is a given for a coffee drinker. So choice one that clearly speaks to them. It can bring awareness to a cause that’s clear to their heart, or one that brings a smile to their face with its witty statement. There are also those that have hidden designs. Which is revealed when warm liquids are poured into it. And if you’re getting one for your significant other (and you both share the love of coffee) Amazon has a great selection; just search under his and hers coffee mug set.
Gift cards may not seem thoughtful, but to a true coffee drinker, they will appreciate it. The cost of a cup of coffee adds up. And this is one gift card you know won’t go to waste.
Cozy coffee sleeves are small and inexpensive gifts that coffee drinkers will find useful, but usually, never buys for themselves. My favorites are the ones that have a crocheted look, but again there are many options here.
Wine Lovers: Cork holders are great gifts for wine lovers. They not only save the corks of favorite bottles, or past special events but it doubles as a decoration that will be displayed in their home. Of course, these can range in size, but corks can fit in stocks, so I think it still counts.
And since we’re on the subject of corks, cork coasters like the ones found at https://www.etsy.com/listing/81266671/honeycomb-wine-cork-coaster-with-brown?ref=market is another great example where functional meets style. Call it corky, but I think it’s a great environmentally friendly gift.
Give the wine lover what they want, wine! At https://www.personalwine.com/shop/wine/mini-bottles you can order mini wine bottles that are sure to fit in their stocking. Yes, the price is high, but you’ll have the piece of mind knowing the quality is there.
Book Enthusiast: I have discovered the cutest book charms necklaces at https://www.etsy.com/shop/VintageCharmedBooks These charms are handmade miniature replicas of the world’s most beloved classic novels, and they are adorable. From the tiny little book shaped box, they’re individually shipped in, to the attention to details make this a must-have.
Bookmarks are a good idea. I’ve never met a book enthusiast who complained of having too many. With so many unique styles from a monogram one to famous quotes, and abstract designs you’ll be able to personalize it to the gift recipient.
Since the weather will have a chill in the air, a new scarf would be a useful gift to give. But what will put yours over the top is choosing one that displays a famous quote from their very author or out of their favorite book. Just search online under book quote scarves and have fun choosing.
Christmas Fanatics: An ornament is a great gift for a person who loves all things Christmas. Quality counts here so spending a little more here will be worth it. Choose Hallmark ornaments rather than dollar store ones. This is a gift you’ll want to have stand the test of time.
Crocheted items like scarfs, hats, and mittens just shout winter is here and finding Christmas themed ones will be easy. And a bonus when buying these items are that you can support small business or self-employed moms who are making their hobby their business.
Let Christmas music ring out. Add to their collect with a CD of classic, kiddish, or funky Christmas songs. While hosting their many Christmas parties this year, they will appreciate having a variety of Christmas CDs to choose from. My personal collect includes Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas as well as Josh Groban’s Noel.
